Have yourself a merry Little Christmas!

Bonjour!! To Papa et Mama!!!

THURSDAY!!! I am going to pee my pants I am so excited to talk to you guys :)))

4 months!! Can you believe it?? It's crazy!! Almost a 4th of the mish done!! Say whaaaat??

Oh the football banquets :) Nothing like a state championship one!! Haha sorry I just had to get that out haha :) No one here cares about American football.. It's just soccer.. And when we played soccer for Samedi (Saturday) sports all I wanted to do was run people over hahaha #Sam Haha I miss it but that's okay because this is sooooo much better :)

DAD!! Woah Watch the language. You may want to reread your paragraph on Kale's basketball hahahahah. Or did Mom write that paragraph... (I am going to get in trouble I know hahaha) I only asked if it was Mom because she had that one french word that she liked to say hahaha. At least I know how you really feel about basketball. That word might apply better to wrestling hahahhaa :) I am glad that Malius is doing well :) Yeah at be grateful you only had attitude with your younger two children. At least your first was an angel ;) Said no one ever hahahaha

Oh yeah!! Tyler!!! AHHH!! I wish that I could see how he is doing! It literally seems like yesterday that we sent him off! Weird haha! Did he give his homecoming talk?? Tell him to write me!! :) I want to know all of his missionary wisdom :)

I really like your quote. It's really interesting how you as parents sort of are asked to sacrifice your sons to Heavenly Father for two years. You get a small glimpse of how the Father must have felt to give His son, and I get a glimpse of what it is like to live completely for everyone but me, just like He did for two years! Pretty neat experience!

Uncle Steve....Whoa!

Anywho, Highlights of the week! So Monday was a bummer because the Stile Family appointment fell through.. The husband, Eric, had an accident at work and had to go to the hospital. I know, pretty intense.. We think they are alright. Despite our best efforts we haven't been able to keep in contact with them this week :(( If only they knew how big they are in our lives right now hahaha :) It'll work out :)

Tuesday we did a lot of contacting and finding Inactives. ALL DAY :O It was a little weird because my comp was in a funk for the majority of the week and since it's only us now at the apartment it makes it dull if one is in a bad mood.. BUT I will make it fun :)

Wednesday, we went out with Ismael, who is a student here from Mexico! And he is awesome! He can speak English, french, and Spanish!! He is super fun! We originally had a plan to go to two rendez-vous with him, but they fell through and people stood us up.. But we made the best of it and went caroling! We caroled for this lady named, Isabelle, and her daughter, Cecil and then asked if we could share a message with them about Jesus Christ and she said yes. We talked about the importance of Christ in our lives and how we feel an increase of love and joy at Christmas because of His spirit :) The conversation went on and we explained a brief summary of what else we believe and they said that we could come back :) It was really cool!

Thursday we had our Christmas Conference in Paris!! Actually specifically it was in Versailles, but whatever :) And it was amazing!! We had Elder Teixeira come to speak to us from the 70 and I learned so much!! An example was given of a man who went out to cut wood for his family to keep them warm and he chopped and chopped all day, and unfortunately at the end of the day, he still didn't have enough wood. The next day, he decided to make a little adjustment. He sharpened his axe for 15 minutes before starting his work. With that, he was able to cut more than enough wood for his family that day. The moral of the story was that we need to sharpen our axes as missionaries and that's where planning and preparation come in. We do not need to go out and work all day and come feeling like we didn't finish anything.. We need to prepare and work all day long and then come home knowing that our work was productive. And at the conference I learned how to better sharpen my missionary axe :) It was wonderful!!

The weekend was wonderful and we had an investigator come to our ward Christmas Party! His name is Albert!! It was great :) He got along really well with the members:) It was a great answer to our prayers;

Well, I am running out of time but I am soooooo pumped to talk to you all in a few days :) Tell Sam and Kale to keep the Christmas tradition alive of peeking at the presents hahaha!! I will be doing it too ;) Just kidding hahaha :) You didn't hear anything Mom and dad :) I sure love you guys!

I know with out a doubt that this is the Lord's Church! I have prayed to know again and again in my life and each time I pray to know I get the answer from the spirit in my heart that it is true!! Find Christ in your Christmas :) It is amazing getting to serve and truly do what He would be doing at the time we celebrate Him most during the year! He is the reason for the season!! One of the best feelings at Christmas is knowing that our family is eternal :) That the joy we feel at this time of the year can be forever :) I love you!!!

Jacob's Flat Christmas tree and presents!

Favorite ornament! Of Course!

Ahhh (tear) Loves!

Mirroring Sam's expression!

Dad's Dead Sea Facial Mask...."say what!!!"

Really not sure what he's thinking....

Everybody Falls Sometimes.....

Hope that everyone's week was good :) Mine sure was!!
Okay!  My new companion is... Drum role please!.. Elder Ericson! So, they are took away Valenciennes two companionship and brought it back to just one companionship. So Elder Ericson, who I room with, from the other companionship is my new comp!
This week was great!!  We have found this AMAZING family and have set them for a baptismal date!! Jan 17 :)))) I am sooo excited! Their names are Eric and Marie-Claude Stile and their children :) We found them just tracting and then they said we could come back and so we did and they weren't there. But we tried again and they gave us another time to come back and after a couple more of it not working out we came and taught them and it was great :) They have 4 kids. 2 boys and 2 girls. The oldest is a 13 year old girl, then there is another girl and the boys are twins at 8 years old! Super cool! The first time we taught we just taught the Dad. And we taught him about God's love and the life of Christ and how Christ's teachings can help the family. It was super easy because it was obvious that he loved his family and Christmas. He was almost the only house in the neighborhood that had lights up. And we did a soft baptism invite, meaning that we asked, "When you know that these things are true will you ... be baptized?" And he said that he would! We then taught them a second time with his wife there and then retaught what we taught last time, so that she was up to speed and then invited her with the soft baptism invite, which she accepted. The third time we taught about Joseph Smith and the spirit was super strong and invited them to be baptized on the 17 and asked them to pray as a family to know if what we were telling them was true :) That's my favorite part is promising that they can get their OWN answer! That's so amazing! ANYONE AND EVERYONE can get an answer because God will answer because HE LOVES YOU! Ah, I am going to make myself cry hahaha just kidding :)

I want to promise all of you that miracles ARE possible! They are possible because of Christ. Whatever you are struggling with, He can and will help you if you let Him! I promise that He will come and make your weaknesses strengths because He has with me again and again :) I heard these songs that really had a great impact on me and I want to share the lyrics with you :)

Everybody falls sometimes,
You've gotta find the strength to rise,
From the ashes, and make a new beginning

Anyone can feel the ache,
You think it's more than you can take,
But you're stronger,
You're stronger than you know.

Don't you give up now!
The sun will soon be shining!
You gotta face THE CLOUDS,
And find the Silver lining;

I've seen dreams that move the mountains;
Hope that doesn't ever end,
Even when the sky is falling,
I've seen miracles just happen,
Silent prayers get answered,
Broken hearts become brand new,
That's what faith can do!

Doesn't matter what you've heard,
Impossible is not a word,
Just a reason for someone not to try,
Everybody's scared to death,
But when they decide to take that step,
Out on the water, It"ll be alright!

Life is SO much more than what our eyes are seeing,
And you will find you're way,
If you keep believing,

I've seen dreams that move the mountains;
Hope that doesn't ever end,
Even when the sky is falling,
I've seen miracles just happen,
Silent prayers get answered,
Broken hearts become brand new,
That's what faith can do!

Overcome the odds!
"You don't have a chance!"
When the world says, "You can't"
HE will tell you that you can!

I've seen dreams that move the mountains;
Hope that doesn't ever end,
Even when the sky is falling,
I've seen miracles just happen,
Silent prayers get answered,
Broken hearts become brand new,
That's what faith can do!

That's what faith can do!
Everybody falls sometimes... YOU will have the strength to rise!

Many nights we've prayed,
With no hope that anyone could hear,
In our hearts a hope for something we barely understood,
Now we are not afraid,
Although there is much to fear,
We were moving mountains long before we knew we could,

There can be miracles when you believe!
No hope is frail,
It's hard to kill,
Who knows what miracles you can achieve,
When you believe,
Somehow you will!
WHEN you believe!

The miracles are waiting. YOU just need to believe. They happen with me everyday here in the mission. I promise they will hap^pen with you too. Let Christ open your eyes. After all, it is Christmas and we are celebrating how HE is the miracle. I love you all!

This week was sooo great! So like symbollically speaking I finally broke through the mist of darkness that I have been trudging through for the past 10 weeks :) Or maybe I am just getting a break hahaha :) I know, the whole asking for trials sounded like a good idea in the moment... Haha nowww... Naw just kidding. This has been the greatest thing that could've happened to me. I have truly learned how to be strong even if it is just me and the Lord. I can truly do all things through the Lord. It has been the MOST important thing I could have learned having just left home.

 I actually was thinking a lot about the state championship yesterday. That football story was such a miracle! It really hit me in sacrament meeting yesterday how God is a God of miracles! And then I thought about how before freshman year I wanted to know if I should play football, and because it was so important to me I prayed about it. I felt that I should. So I continued to pray to know what position I should play and I felt like quarterback was the one I should go for. And as you very well know :) Freshman year was the WORST!! Then all of my injuries sophomore year. Then the battle for the starting position junior and of course!... More injuries.. hahah I was used to it by then hahaha. And finally at the end HEAVENLY FATHER made me a champion. He made our team champions from a little town that quite honestly, lives in complacency of "just being okay". Through that football experience a whole town came together and say that miracles do happen today!! And I got to be a part of that because I prayed and had faith even when it was hard!

I told that story to Elder Cutshall yesterday in comp study and then testified to him that I know that answers to prayer come! Sometimes they are just in the Lord's time-- after injuries and setbacks and what we would call, "failures",- but in the end He ALWAYS answers them! Prophets from the
beginning of the Book of Mormon prayed for the well being of the Lamanites and for them to come unto the truth and it didn't start until 1820! But it happened. I now see that Father had me do football because look at all that I learned! And now I am learning it again :) Elder Cutshall even told me that He will most likely try to know if the church is true again.

That in and of itself is a MIRACLE! Just like my prompting that he would leave to go home with a desire to know if it was true!! And that he wouldn't be against it. The Lord hears our prayers!! I know that! I cannot only testify of that but am a testimony of that! Just look at my life and what the Lord has done because I had faith.

Rolv unfortunately will be in Paris for the next month and we didn't get to see Marie Therese :( But the miracles will come! PLease pray for Julian. He is a man who we will teach this week, Steve, Maximilien, Stile, Adrian, and Frank. They will need the prayers!

I love you Dad! I am sorry I don't have hardly any info on Christmas yet. I will let you know though!

This one will be short because I don't have a lot of time! Sorry guys :/
Funny of the week: We were teaching a youth how to say "cheater" in English at the church and he says it... but in a french accent, which makes the "Ch" sound like a "Sh" hahaha. You can imagine how it came it out. We had to quickly fix that pronunciation!!
We have found some awesome amis!! We met a woman named Marie Therese and she is super interested in the gospel and has a ton of questions!! All questions that the plan of salvation can answer! Her mom and sister are less actives too! I am super excited to see where things go. Oh and FYI "ami" is french for "friend"; The real term is "ami de l'├ęglise" or "friend of the church" or "investigator". Anyways, it was such a blessing to find her because weeks before now have been hard finding people who are ready!! Truly the Lord knows our problems and our needs! He knows how to succor us!
Our ami, Rolv shared with me something that was really cool! He said that when he saw us that we were like two lights in his life and he just knew that he had to talk to us! He then said that he has been feeling like Father in Heaven has a great plan for him and something amazing is going to happen in the near future. Heavenly Father is preparing the way for his servants! Truly the Lord is with us in all things in our life. We just need to open our eyes to Him!
Am I the only one super duper stoked for Christmas??! Sharing the gospel during Christmas is the best! People's hearts are naturally opened to the message :) The Church put out a new short video called "He is the Gift". It is great!:! I would highly recommend it. It's on lds.org. In it it talks about how Christ came for everyone like it talks about in John 3:16; But is points out specifically that He came for YOU! Yes and I believe that even if it was just YOU that He came to save He still would have come! That's how much He loves you! You are loved so so so much more by you Father in Heaven than you can ever imagine! Merry Christmas season all! I love you all! Don't forget the meaning of Christmas :)
